Modern Religious Experience: Reflection #8 Islam: Two Perspectives

Modern Religious Experience: Reflection #8 Islam: Two Perspectives: "Find where Islamic religious beliefs intersect with current events. Research a Western news source on the story and summarize the artic..."

This first article that I researched about was about the reactions of Afghanistan to the Koran books burning . The Afghans protested against the American burnings so in effect the Afghans started burning U.S. flags."if the Koran is burned, then it would be the beginning of destruction of America." is the statement the Afghans said to the U.S to intimidate. This event was very heart breaking for the afghans and took a pro Afghan approach.

The other article is a reaction of the U.S to the Koran Burning. some of the many U.S. churches decided to burn the Korans on the 9/11 anniversary, saying that Islam is the religion of devils The U.S. reactions is very surprising because most people actually agreed to carry the burning s on but mostly because of the sour thought of 9/11 on the back of their heads, Islamic followers warned the Christian church that they should have not done it and that there will be a hostile conflict between the 2 religions http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/seealso/2010/09/us_reaction_to_pastors.html

These articles show a very noticeable difference of support and it seems that there will be a hostile tension between Islam and Christianity and the middle east Islamic countries toward the U.S
